p>Gas Price Review - Week Ending September 26, 2005

The last week brought another hurricane to the United States Gulf Coast and with it fears that the price of oil would skyrocket. So far despite the damage caused by Hurricane Rita to the Gulf States of Texas and Louisiana, the price of oil has wavered between the $64 - $68 dollar mark with bloomberg.com indicated that closing price on Monday September 26, 2005 was $66 up from the week low of $64.

Last week PetroJam announced a slight reduction in the ex-refinery prices of 87 Octane and 97 Octane. Those changes were slow in taking effective in the market and it was not until the weekend that motorist saw the any movement in the prices at the pump. From observation an annoying number of service station still refuse to display their prices and in many cases those are the ones with the higher prices. This week the forecast seems to be for higher prices at the pump with the best outlook being the prices remaining the same.

Jamaican Consumers Restless Over High Gas Prices

It is good to see that the discussion is picking up but the Jamaican consumers need to do is to stop talking and act. Support the stations with lower prices & good quality gas and avoid the expensive high priced gas stations.

Jamaica Gas Prices was even mentioned on the Good Morning Man Show by Alan Magnus & Dorraine Samuels as site you need to visit.

Traffic in Kingston
The traffic on the road is continues to reach unbearable proportions. Last Friday afternoon must have been the worst seen for a long time especially if you happened in the New Kingston. Thousand of person descending upon Emancipation Park to see the final of Digicel's Rising Star Competition. The Crowd swamped the park and overflowed into the surrounding streets of Half-way-tree, Oxford Road and Knutsford Road creating major Gridlock. That kind of traffic you never want to get stuck in as nothing results in a waste of your precious gas than being stuck in standstill traffic.
