Last week the magical figure of US$60 for a barrel of Oil was broken. Sometime early this year some analysts indicated that oil could reach US$100 per barrel of oil and it was scoffed at now it does not seem like a far fetch possibility anymore. Rising oil prices is continuing to seriously affect the pockets of Jamaicans.

This week the average price of 87-octane gasoline so far is $42.11 while prices ranged from $44.02 to $40.57 The average price of 90-octane gasoline is $44.98 while prices ranged from $42.55 to $47.61 The average price of diesel is $40.73 with prices ranging from $39.29 to $42.03 .

Jamaicans will have keep an eye on the rising oil prices and look to conserve. Choosing routes and driving times carefully, carpooling or simply parking the car is things that need to be seriously considered.
